Centre for the Book
The vision of the Centre for the Book is to promote a South African culture of reading and writing. The Centre for the Book aims to promote the writing, publishing, reading, marketing and distribution of South African books in all South African languages in order to develop a truly South African literary culture. The core functions of the Centre for the Book are book development, lobbying, raising awareness, advocacy and acting as a hub of information and as an advice centre for the book world.
The Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund
South Africa Partners is proud to be the U.S. Administrator for the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund.
The Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund strives to change the way society treats its children and youth. In the pursuit of this vision, and in order to ensure that the legacy of its founder, Nelson Mandela, is secured in perpetuity, the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund will develop partnerships and initiate programmes which empower and improve the well-being of children and youth; promote the rights of children and youth through the influence of public policy and social awareness; and sustain these initiatives through the development of a sound financial and knowledge support base.
Nelson Mandela Institute for Education & Rural Development
The vision of the Institute is to create sustainable, vibrant rural communities united by a spirit of learning and purposive collective action through which community members – unleashed from the limitations of the past - become the creators of their future and the drivers of their own development. The Institute represents a trans-disciplinary space within the University of Fort Hare to focus on some of the most intractable questions facing rural education and development. The Institute is accountable to a Board of Directors, and constitutes an entity of the Faculty of Education.
READ Education Trust
READ Educational Trust is a South African-based NGO that operates in the education and literacy sectors broadly, and in educator training and school resource provision specifically. Established in 1979 and funded by foreign donors and the private sector, READ works alongside the Department of Education to implement teacher training and literacy projects in schools.

Artists for a New South Africa (ANSA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to combating the African AIDS pandemic and advancing democracy and equality in South Africa. ANSA also works to further civil rights and safeguard voting rights in the U.S.

MassImpact works to develop strategic alliances and partnerships with private sector organizations, academic institutions and local organizations to foster skills transfer, progressive program planning, capacity building, curriculum development, employment opportunities and Internet-driven entrepreneurship.
